A thick slab of praise for J. Cannibal and his Feast of Flesh:

“J. Cannibal, the ‘King of Horror Burlesque.’” —Boston's Weekly Dig

“J. Cannibal's Feast of Flesh, led by real-life undertaker and zombie lover J. Cannibal, is a celebration of all things terrifying.” —The Improper Bostonian

“Think Rocky Horror Picture Show with less androgyny and more anthropophagy.” —The Onion

“[J.Cannibal] is the sort of guy people brag about knowing. After all, he sounds like an exotic, epic character: poet, undertaker, horror-burlesque king, small-press publisher, show promoter, fake-blood engineer.”

A Zombie Apocalypse RPG: Crossroads

The Walking Dead began to roam our streets during that hot summer. A plague, an underground movement, a stirring of bad air, no one knows for certain where they came from. We were caught at unawares - and how quickly they brought us to our knees. The illness broke out on three continents simultaneously, spread rapidly to the rest of the world, and even military strikes were overwhelmed by the tireless, single-minded effort to swell the force of the Walking Dead.

They tore apart civilization as we know it, and in its death-throes, strange events are occurring, if anything in the age of the Walking Dead can be regarded as strange any longer. They - strangers from other lands and times - are coming, more with every day, blending in among the terrified survivors. They are welcome as long as they are willing to lend a hand to our cause. Few enough strongholds still remain, and God knows we need the assistance.

- Mackenzie Ilyich, interim mayor of Crossroads

HOLLYWOOD IS DEAD

I though you guys might get a kick taking a peek at my latest project.

HOLLYWOOD IS DEAD.

With this collection of re-imagined parody movie posters, I've faithfully hand-painted every detail before slaughtering them with a zombified treatment. Make no mistake, I'm having way too much fun with this. I grew up on great movies, but the movie posters themselves are almost more vivid in my memory as iconic images. So the opportunity to really study the original master artists like Drew Struzan, Bob Peak, Richard Amsel and others has been awesome.

It’s an ironic twist, to take these beautiful master-works, attempting to recreate every detail, while shredding them to bloody pulps. Nothing here is sacred, but it’s all in good fun and out of the utmost respect to the original posters that had such an impact on my life.

If you find yourself hungry for more, check out the new website: Hollywood-is-Dead.com!

New True Crime vs. Crime-in-the-Media Community

killer_culture is a community for those interested in true crime as well as related books, movies, television shows, etc. Anything related to true crime (even fictional) is welcome here: debates, discussions concerning TV shows, movies, books (Dexter, Criminal Minds, Forensic Files, Law & Order, Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc.), icons, questions, news articles, pictures, reviews, pretty much anything relevant is permitted!

We're looking for interested members, "fans" of various crime-based shows/movies/books/etc. to keep debates/discussions fresh and interesting and to get the ball rolling. We don't want to focus on just one show or just one subject or be an all icons/graphics community. We want it to be open to people from all fandoms and walks of life to discuss their likes/dislikes or ask questions (example: "how accurate would what Dexter did (by doing this) be?") or whatever your pleasure may be! If this turns into a "one-trick-pony", it's going to die fast, and we don't want that!

We're trying to stand out; since there are tons of true crime communities and tons of fandom communities. We're combining the two, in a sense!

If anyone has any questions, concerns or suggestions, contact me or the other mod, ar_poe.
